Leading German Automotive Supplier Selects Tecnomatix eMPower Solutions to Strengthen Customization Capabilities, Increase Planning Quality
Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. ( http://www.tecnomatix.com ) announced that Munich, Germany-based Webasto AG, one of Germany's top automotive industry suppliers, has signed a contract for the implementation of eMPowerT software.
Webasto AG rolled out two products from the eMPower solutions suite-eM-Planner and eM-Engineer-that will help facilitate timely product customization and offer manufacturing alternatives early in the process. By the close of 2004, the company plans to extend the eMPower application to its plants worldwide to reduce planning time, increase quality and lower ramp-up costs across the entire Webasto AG enterprise.
eM-Planner will help Webasto AG facilitate better enterprise-wide collaboration and management of manufacturing processes in the very early stages of concept planning. eM-Engineer will provide the company with increased optimization of planning, simulation, and design of its production and manufacturing processes and applications.
Jochen Walz, director of the technology department at Webasto AG said: "The implementation of the eMPower solution as a major tool within the Digital Factory gives us the possibility to accelerate and secure our planning, production and manufacturing process. With the use of the Digital Factory we are able to react more efficiently and quickly to the fast growing market and the high demands of our clients. The eMPower solution will be an important part of our simultaneous engineering process."
"This is a significant win for Tecnomatix as it further extends our portfolio in the ever-growing tier one automotive market," said Jaron Lotan, president and CEO of Tecnomatix Technologies. "Working with an industry leader like Webasto AG gives Tecnomatix the chance to share our manufacturing vision and offer them a comprehensive and cost-effective solution that addresses their specific challenges and improves productivity on both individual and enterprise levels."
