Apache Exceeds Q2 Sales Targets, Marking Sixth Consecutive Quarter of Record Growth; EDA Veteran Joins Apache to Head Newly Established European Sales/Support Office
Apache Design Solutions ( http://www.apache-da.com ), a provider of physical power integrity solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) designs, announced its sixth consecutive record quarter. Compared to the previous quarter, sales increased more than 30 percent. Contributions to the record results came from new customer orders, as well as from additional licenses and renewals from a number of existing accounts. Apache's full-chip dynamic physical power integrity solution, RedHawk-SDL, has been adopted by a majority of the top ten semiconductor companies to address their ever-growing dynamic power closure issues.
"We're excited by the growing worldwide acceptance of our solutions by leading chip designers," said Keith Mueller, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. "The adoption of RedHawk-SDL by top semiconductor companies as well as by TSMC in their Reference Flow 5.0 demonstrates the need for an accurate true-dynamic power integrity solution."
Apache opened a direct European sales and support office in Paris, France. EDA veteran Jose Gandlarz joined Apache to head the European operations. Before joining Apache, Gandlarz lead European sales for Axis Systems (acquired by Verisity Inc.). Prior to Axis Systems he was at Avant! (acquired by Synopsys Inc.). In addition, Apache has responded to numerous product inquiries from the South Korean market by signing Siliconeer Inc. as its distributor for sales and technical support.
RedHawk-SDL addresses dynamic power issues such as simultaneous switching outputs (SSO) for core, memory, clock, and I/O, as well as the effects of on-chip inductance, package RLC, and decoupling capacitance. It delivers cell-based capacity with transistor-level accuracy and is the cornerstone of Apache's physical power integrity flow. It can be used early in the design flow when physical implementation decisions are being made, and throughout the entire design process. RedHawk-SDL enables designers to examine the timing impact of dynamic voltage drop on high performance SoCs, including those utilizing advanced low-power design techniques such as leakage current control, power gating, multiple voltage domains, and multiple threshold transistors.
