Israeli Manufacturers Standardize on Agile to Accelerate Time to Market and Reduce Costs
Agile Software Corporation ( http://www.agile.com ) announced several new customer go-lives in Israel. With close to 50 implementations driven by Agile partner Systematics, Agile has become the PLM provider of choice among high technology companies in Israel.
"As the number of electronics and high tech companies here in Israel continues to grow, solutions that enable these companies to accelerate their time to market and to reduce costs is imperative for their survival," said Oded Leventer, general manager, Systematics. "These companies are turning to Agile PLM solutions because of its proven success, its depth of product capability and its ease of implementation."
Customers who have benefited from adopting Agile PLM solutions include Actelis Networks, Atrica, M-Systems and NICE Systems. Actelis Networks has developed the first technology that is delivering fiber-quality rates, reach and reliability over the embedded copper infrastructure that forms the foundation of service provider networks. There are more than three billion copper lines installed in the world. Actelis products are designed to increase the capacity of this infrastructure, enabling broadband services throughout the entire network.
"Right from our inception, we knew we needed to implement a comprehensive PLM solution that would enable us to get to market quickly and minimize mistakes. With Agile PLM, our whole engineering process is well organized and structured, from the development stage through production and market introduction," said Edi Asher, vice president of operations, Actelis. "Every day that your product is not market-ready you are giving up revenue and margin opportunities. With Agile PLM, we were able to optimize our processes and reduce costs significantly."
Atrica is a provider of optical Ethernet solutions for metropolitan area networks, and enables providers to scale their networks, simplify network operations, reduce capital and operational expenses and profitably deliver new Ethernet-based services.
"We chose to implement Agile so we could easily support the changes inherent to product development. The Agile PLM solution helped us build product prototypes during very early phases of the development cycle. We are also using the Agile solution to streamline the process of passing design specs to our subcontractors, which has resulted in faster time-to-market," said Tal Parnes, operations manager, Atrica. "After going through vendor assessments and market surveys, we ultimately selected Agile because it is well-designed, very user friendly and easy to implement. This invaluable product paid for itself very quickly."
M-Systems develops manufactures and markets flash memory solutions to a variety of markets including mobile handsets, key chain storage, embedded systems, military and aerospace.
"As a global organization, M-Systems' research and development, operations, sales and support for its product lines are distributed across North America, Asia and the Middle East. It was essential for us to find a PLM system that could enable us to collaborate and share essential product information across these geographies," said Udi Weinstein, CIO, M-Systems. "With Agile PLM, our average engineering change order time was reduced by over 70%, the process of routing information around departments was shortened, the number of development rounds decreased substantially and our decision making process became easier because all the relevant information was easily available."
NICE Systems is a global supplier of digital recording solutions, applications and services. NICE's technology platform enables organizations to document, assess and analyze their business interactions.
"The most significant improvement that we have experienced with Agile PLM is reduced time-to-market, which has resulted in quicker time-to-volume," said Yossi Gill, director of engineering, NICE Systems. "With the Agile system, we have control and complete monitoring capability. We can identify bottlenecks, determine how to allocate resources and obtain meaningful reports. We have reduced our average engineering change order time by 75%-from 45 days to less than 10."
"Israel has long been on the cutting edge of research and development in advanced technologies. The high technology industry has been, and continues to be, very important to the Israeli economy, and we are pleased that Agile has been selected by so many key players," said Jay Fulcher, president and COO, Agile. "We appreciate the work that our partner Systematics has done over the past few years to make Agile the de-facto PLM standard in Israel."
