eQuorum Releases ImageSite® 5.0

eQuorum Corporation announced the availability of ImageSite® version 5.0, a major update to its Web-based engineering document management software solution. The new features and enhancements in this version offer current users greater overall performance and help customers achieve a faster return on investment.

ImageSite combines the best features of document management systems with those found in active project collaboration systems. The result is a flexible and configurable system that lets companies effectively manage thousands, even millions, of documents. ImageSite lets users find, view, mark up, and distribute archived engineering documents into their daily work processes. At the same time, ImageSite supports active project-based collaboration that lets users work with documents in an interactive environment.

"The numerous enhancements in this release of ImageSite significantly increase overall performance," says Frank Bouchard, vice president of sales and marketing at eQuorum. "We've utilized advances in technology to improve database searches and database indexing, while maintaining ImageSite's blazing document display speed and powerful printing performance."

New features in ImageSite 5.0 include the following:

•  Support of the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000)-This storage engine offers support for both single and dual processor desktop computers. Since MSDE 2000 is based on SQL Server technology, it provides easy migration to SQL Server should a company's needs change.
•  Direct interface to SAP's PLM module via ImageSite SAP Connector module-The optional SAP Connector module lets users launch ImageSite directly from SAP. Companies can use ImageSite as a distribution, collaboration and print engine while leveraging the document management capabilities of SAP.
•  Support for print jobs in Repro Desk format-Companies who use Reprodesk for their print production solution can drive their existing production workflow while using ImageSite for engineering document management and distribution.
•  Conditional stamping-Users can automate the printing of watermarks based on certain document attributes or digital signature settings. These watermarks can be configured with their own location, content and print density. Administrators can also configure ImageSite to allow users to manually generate watermarks.
•  Flexible document versioning system -ImageSite offers a flexible revision subsystem to simplify the complicated task of tracking document versions (or revisions). Administrators can set a variety of controls including those for uploading or archiving documents. This lets administrators tailor ImageSite's document versioning function to work with historical or proposed engineering document versioning systems.
•  Enhanced document upload & data integration-Users of Xerox scanning solutions can automatically upload documents to the ImageSite repository upon scanning. Users who work with bills of material created by third party systems can automatically generate print sets for distribution.

Bouchard continues, "Even with all the bells and whistles we've added in release 5.0, users still appreciate the core ImageSite functions. Users get immediate access to the documents they need-all from within their web browser. Once they have their documents, they can utilize one of ImageSite's key strengths-its integrated WAN-based plotting. This means that a user can access documents from the ImageSite server at a company's headquarters and print them locally-even if the user is in New York and the ImageSite server is in Los Angeles. This capability saves tremendous time and money, and really sets ImageSite apart from other products."

ImageSite is licensed by the number of concurrent users or by the number of documents to be stored in the ImageSite repository. ImageSite is available directly from eQuorum, or through authorized resellers and partners including Xerox Corporation. Free tryouts of ImageSite are available at http://online.equorum.com
