Intergraph Process, Power & Marine and MRO Software Sign Alliance
The Process, Power & Marine division of Intergraph Corporation and MRO Software Inc. have signed an alliance agreement to provide integration solutions that improve the lifecycle management of process manufacturing and power plant assets. The two companies jointly plan to provide the work process and technology solutions for plant owner/operators that require integration of engineering and maintenance data. The integrated solution will help asset-intensive industries reduce total cost of ownership by improving maintenance efficiency, production reliability, asset availability, safety and regulatory compliance. MRO Software ( http://www.mro.com/ ) is a g provider of strategic asset management solutions and Intergraph Process, Power & Marine ( http://ppm.intergraph.com/ ) supplies plant design and engineering information management.
MRO Software's MAXIMO® strategic asset management solution and the Intergraph SmartPlant® suite of engineering software will be integrated through the Intergraph SmartPlant Foundation information and workflow management software and the MRO Software Engineering Data Management Adapter, using the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 commercial middleware. SmartPlant Foundation provides strategic integration among SmartPlant as well as other applications and enables enterprise access to engineering information. The integration of MAXIMO and SmartPlant applications enable synchronization, change management and immediate availability of plant configuration and engineering information during daily operation and maintenance. For capital projects, this integration ensures that accurate asset engineering information is available to plant maintenance managers at handover.
Ben Eazzetta, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine, said, "Plant owners are increasingly challenged to improve production of aging assets. Innovation is required. Because engineering and maintenance are traditionally separate, the lack of integration means poor optimization of maintenance planning and potentially expensive mistakes. The innovative integration proposed by MRO Software and Intergraph brings the specific functionality required to integrate these critical work processes and reduce lifecycle costs."
Intergraph Process, Power & Marine is a provider of intelligent software and services enabling companies to integrate engineering information to promote profitability, improve operational excellence and safety and manage assets.
