American Software Introduces Integrated Product Development, Global Sourcing and Production Control, ERP Software Suite for Sewn Products Enterprises
American Software, Inc. announced that New Generation Computing (NGC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Software, has introduced the NGC SQL Series, a software suite designed to help retailers, manufacturers, brand managers and other companies involved with the design and production of sewn products increase speed to market, reduce costs, manage by exception and enhance workflow.
The NGC SQL Series, which is built on Microsoft technology, including SQL Server, Word and Excel, consists of three products: e-PDM, e-SPS and REDHORSE Enterprise ERP. e-PDM and REDHORSE are new products released by NGC to complete the NGC SQL Series and round out what is one of the most comprehensive and highly integrated systems of its kind available today in the sewn products industry.

e-PDM, or Internet Product Development Manager, is a Web-based product lifecycle management tool that enables users to organize and share common business processes and information with members of other departments critical to the production of finished products. With e-PDM, designers can access and manage product images through a visual organizer, generate story boards and line plans, create comprehensive specification packages, produce cost sheets and bills of materials, and maintain event calendars.
Companies can deploy e-PDM as a standalone software module or as part of NGC's complete global sourcing and production system: e-SPS. e-SPS, or Internet Sourcing and Production System, enables sourcing executives with companies that manufacture products overseas to complete production steps and obtain visibility of the entire supply chain in real time via the Internet. The e-SPS modules are e-Product Development, e-RFQ's & Bids, e-Pre Production, e-Production Tracking, e-Quality, e-Collaboration, e-Pack, e-Shipment Tracking, e-Exceptions, Executive Dashboard, and Event Tracking and Management System.
REDHORSE is a comprehensive enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) system that enables users to integrate all departments and functions across an enterprise onto a single computer system. The system consists of 12 software modules that CIOs and CFOs can select and implement as part of a customized resource- planning tool to meet their needs. The REDHORSE modules are Customer Order Processing, EDI Information System, Invoicing & Accounts Receivable, Finished Goods Inventory Control, Purchasing and Receiving, Components Inventory with Requirement Planning, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Import Management, Remote Plant Management, Production Planning and Screen Printing & Embroidery.
