New Partnership Between PROSTEP and gedas

PROSTEP AG and the IT service provider gedas have formed a new partnership.

The OpenDXM® family of products from PROSTEP is a software solution for automating and optimizing processes in the area of supply chain communications. It allows users to exchange engineering and CAD data, thereby guaranteeing that automated data communication can be employed in the field of engineering. Together with the gedas software rvs® - a product for secure data transfer - the combined product provides an "all-in-one" solution. With rvs® for OpenDXM ®, gedas now offers an additional rvs® option, whose properties have been adapted to the requirements of OpenDXM®.

By using this "all-in-one" solution, the user benefits from a number of features. rvs® allows global partners to exchange data securely, regardless of the platforms and network protocols being used. In addition, the system offers 24/7 availability without the need for monitoring. OpenDXM® fully automates the data exchange process, documents all of the processes, and maintains the partner profiles and control data.

PROSTEP AG offers its customers integration solutions for CAD, PDM and supplier communication, thus making e-engineering a reality.

PROSTEP was founded at the end of 1993 as a public limited company (GmbH). The founding members were the BMW Group, Bosch, Continental Teves, DaimlerChrysler, Delphi Automotive Systems, Opel / General Motors, Siemens and Volkswagen and the ProSTEP iViP Association with approximately 200 member companies from 17 nations. PROSTEP changed its corporate form to that of a stock corporation at the end of 2001. The PROSTEP Group has a current headcount of more than 180 in Germany and posted revenues of € 15.5 million in fiscal 2003. In addition to its headquarters in Darmstadt, PROSTEP also maintains branch offices in Hanover, Munich and Stuttgart as well as the software development center PROSTEP GIDA GmbH in Berlin and the aerospace specialist PROSTEP ITS GmbH. In April 2003, PROSTEP AG acquired a 51-percent share of ILC PROSTEP GmbH in Bexbach, which specializes in mySAP PLM solutions.
