OpenPDM® Builds Bridges to the World of CATIA V5
Dassault Systèmes has certified the integration of the PROSTEP product suite OpenPDM® with CATIA V5 as the official partner product: "OpenPDM® CATIA V5 Connector". This product was realized within the framework of the CAA Adopter partnership established in 2002 and is based on the xPDM gateway architecture from Dassault Systèmes.
The OpenPDM® CATIA V5 Connector adds a new component to the modular OpenPDM® integration platform. PROSTEP is the only provider who can offer its customers the ability to realize process chains with CATIA V5 and/or CATIA V4 and any PLM / PDM / TDM / ERP systems on the basis of a standard product. This includes both document-oriented solutions for integration within a single company and the configuration of external partner connections within the supplier chain. The specific requirements of the individual manufactures in the automotive industry regarding the exchange of product structure data using the STEP and XML standards are fully satisfied.
The number of available OpenPDM® connectors (e.g. mySAP PLM, UGS Teamcenter, PTC Windchill) and the ability to combine these connectors as required allows engineering processes to be established and operated without problem in heterogeneous system environments.
Together with its existing OpenDXM® CATIA V5 Connector, PROSTEP is in a position to cover almost every aspect of integration involving CATIA V5 and can thus provide effective support when introducing CATIA V5. The portfolio of services that PROSTEP AG provides in this context is not limited to only standard products and solutions but also includes consultancy services relating to methodologies for the introduction, migration and operation of CATIA V5.
Further development of the PROSTEP products OpenDXM® and OpenPDM® include integration packages for the Dassault products ENOVIA LCA and SMARTEAM. A service contract naming PROSTEP AG a "Development Service Provider" has also been signed with Dassault Systèmes. This means that, in the future, PROSTEP AG can offer the CAA-based development of customer-specific solutions in projects without customers having to have their own CAA environment.
PROSTEP AG is a PLM integration specialist in the area of product data integration. The company offers its customers integration solutions for CAD, PDM and supplier communication, thus making e-engineering a reality.
