TOSCA Competency Center Opens in Japan

VINAS Co. Ltd. and FE-DESIGN, a developer of virtual product development and numerical simulation, signed on July 20, 2004 in Osaka a long-term distribution agreement for marketing and supporting FE-DESIGN's optimization software TOSCA in Japan. Visual Integration & Numerical Analysis Systems (VINAS) Co. Ltd., one of the leading CAE solution providers in Japan, will supplement its premium services to customers by offering design optimization solutions with TOSCA. In July, a one-week TOSCA kick-off event was held in Osaka Japan, which included a TOSCA training class, marketing and PR activities as well as customer visits. VINAS' FEA solver neutral marketing strategy will guarantee the same high-level support to the entire FEA community in Japan and not just to one FEA vendors' client base.

"It is our intention to integrate the proven optimization technology as a standard methodology into the design and product development process. Many clients benefit already from the implementation of our optimization system TOSCA that allows them to drive design by optimization results in an early phase of the design process. We are convinced that the cooperation with the team of VINAS Ltd will bring the best possible service and support to our Japanese customers." Commented Dr. Juergen Sauter, Founder and CEO of FE-DESIGN.

"VINAS is the leading company that promotes streamlining of CAE/CFD businesses in Japan. VINAS' research laboratory and a Japanese national laboratory have collaboratively developed the proprietary technology, which is applied to the matrix solver for numerical analysis that has been commercialized by VINAS. VINAS has a strong client base and channel in the CAE/CFD market in Japan with a database of over 10,000 direct contacts. VINAS will promote the sales, support and consultation for TOSCA with high-level technical capabilities and marketing skill that are the products of the years of experience as the users of the finite element method (FEA) structural analysis." said Yasuhiko Fujikawa, CEO and President of VINAS Co., Ltd.
