Oxford University Standardizes on Autodsys IntelliCAD 4 Professional
Autodsys ( http://www.autodsys.com/ ) announced that the University Surveyors Office at Oxford University has standardized on Autodsys IntelliCAD 4.
Oxford University purchased 30 seats of IntelliCAD 4 Professional for their designers and engineers from Autodsys, Inc. Asked why Oxford chose IntelliCAD, Dave Tilley, IT Manager of the University Surveyors Office said "it gave us greater flexibility over AutoCAD with regard to the viewing etc. of old drawing files. We used AutoCAD R13 and 14 and versions of LT but found that they were not backwards compatible. This made work very difficult especially as we get drawings in from consultants and architects who were all using different versions of AutoCAD." IntelliCAD will open .DWG files from AutoCAD versions as early as 2.5 all the way to 2005.
Added Dave Tilley "In general the cost effectiveness, ease of use and extra facilities were a great decider when we decided to change from AutoCAD to Intellicad. We still have AutoCAD 2002 on site as this is used for major projects and only because new staff were extremely familiar with this. All new staff now use Intellicad and are extremely pleased with the product."
Autodsys is a commercial and board member of the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium and developer of IntelliCAD, ArchT, and other utilities that work with both AutoCAD and IntelliCAD. Autodsys has been producing solutions for the AEC industry since 1986.
