Tech Soft America Announces Latest Release of HOOPS® Component Technologies; Popular Graphics Toolkit Adds Significant New Features and Device

Tech Soft America ( http://www.hoops3d.com/ ) (TSA) announced the immediate availability of the latest HOOPS 3D Application Framework (HOOPS/3dAF), HOOPS Stream Toolkit (HOOPS/Stream) and HOOPS Net Server (HOOPS/Net) component technologies.

The HOOPS components for graphics, streaming and collaboration are embedded within hundreds of engineering software applications from companies such as Autodesk, SolidWorks, PTC, Dassault Systemes, MSC.Software, Bentley, Proficiency, Fluent, Thermwood, COADE, KubotekUSA, Hitachi Zosen and ITI/Transcendata.

Several dozen customer-driven enhancements are included in HOOPS 11.0, including:

•  Direct3D device driver to leverage the Direct3D API on Windows platforms, as previously announced
•  Major texture pipeline enhancements for more visually rich and realistic models drawn at real-time rendering speeds
•  For CAM applications, a new frame-buffer based Boolean capability for real-time simulation of 2.5D/3D milling operations
•  For FEA applications, new geometry creation classes for generating skins, creating cross-sections and calculating iso-lines & iso-surfaces
•  Integration with the ImageMagik Library
•  a royalty-free SDK providing read/write access to over 80 image formats such as JPEG, BMP and GIF
•  HOOPS/Stream extensions to support and compress the new HOOPS/3dAF geometry and primitives such as local textures, scale dependent images and scale independent objects
•  Improvements to the animation authoring system aimed at increasing ease-of-use
•  Extensive new tutorials to jumpstart the development of new HOOPS- based applications

"The TSA team is an integral part of our own R&D efforts. Their rapid response to features and forward-looking R&D help us keep eCabinet Systems ahead of the competition," said Larry Epplin, Software Engineering Supervisor, Thermwood Corporation.

Added Ron Fritz, Managing Partner for TSA, "The engineering software market will appreciate the major new advancements we've made especially our new Direct3D driver, advanced texturing and market-specific functionality for CAM and CAE. In addition, our HOOPS customers will benefit from our significant and ongoing investment in a robust QA and testing system enabling our customers to confidently support a wide array of graphics hardware."

HOOPS 3D Product Suite is a set of extensible, high-level components that simplifies the design, development and maintenance of high-performance, interactive 2D/3D applications for Windows, UNIX, LINUX, MAC OS X and Windows CE devices. HOOPS components provide the base infrastructure for building custom, high performance applications.
