VX CAD/CAM to be Used by Florida Schools and Colleges
VX Corporation announced that Florida secondary schools, community colleges and universities will be incorporating VX software as a new educational tool in classroom curriculums.
The use of VX CAD/CAM software in Florida schools and colleges will help generate student interest and provide training for computer aided design and manufacturing technologies to help stem the off-shore flow of manufacturing jobs. The value of the software used by the Florida schools will be upwards to $50 million.
Training and administration of the software will be managed by the Florida Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) ( http://www.trda.org ) an agency of the state that fosters education and economic development throughout Florida.
The VX CAD/CAM software used by the Florida schools will include special kinematic functions supplied by D-Cubed Ltd. http://www.d-cubed.com and machine tool path simulation and visualization software supplied by MachineWorks Ltd. http://www.machineworks.com
