Magma Users Group to Feature DFM Roundtable-EE Times' Goering to Moderate
Magma® Design Automation, Inc. announced that its MUSIC users group meeting in Santa Clara will include a panel discussion on design for manufacturability (DFM). The luncheon panel, September 16 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, will be moderated by EE Times Group Editorial Director for Design Automation Richard Goering and is expected to feature many diverse opinions on this emerging design topic. The panel is open to all MUSIC attendees.
Among those expected to participate on the panel are John Cooley, long-time observer of the electronic design automation industry and moderator of DeepChip.com; Premal Buch, general manager of Magma's Analysis and Signoff business unit; Barry Hoberman, chief executive officer of Virtual Silicon Inc.; John Kibarian, chief executive officer of PDF Solutions; Joe Sawicki, vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics' Design-to-Silicon Division; and Naveed Sherwani, chief executive officer of Open Silicon.
MUSIC meetings provide a forum for Magma users to exchange ideas, discuss problems and explore solutions related to the design and manufacturing of ICs, as well as providing users an opportunity to meet with Magma staff and product experts. The MUSIC program covers the key elements of semiconductor design, from system-level design to tape-out, for systems on chips, ASICs and FPGAs. At these conferences Magma's EDA, IP, foundry and ASIC partners showcase their solutions and interoperability with Magma's software. Magma users see how other designers have achieved their design goals with a complete methodology that includes products from Magma's RTL-to-GDSII technology and complementary tools and technologies from Magma's partners.
Designers with perspective on high-level or physical design methodologies, RTL-to-GDSII design flows, system simulation, mixed-technology or experiences with Magma software are encouraged to present at the MUSIC events. Submissions of abstracts may be made online at http://www.magma-da.com/MUSIC
