UGS Launches NX Nastran SDK
UGS announced availability of NX Nastran SDK, a new software development kit being added to UGS' PLM Components product family.
NX Nastran SDK enables a wide network of partners and customers to extend applications for broader industry access through open standardization and interoperability. The software development kit provides users with development tools and utilities designed to simplify the task of implementing NX Nastran as a core component to applications that extend the breadth and depth of capabilities offered by Nastran. In addition, it enables customers and other companies to leverage investments in Nastran development. NX Nastran SDK complements NX Nastran Enterprise and NX Nastran Desktop to form a portfolio of products for high performance analysis of complex, global products.

NX Nastran SDK will allow partners and customers to leverage many thousands of man years invested in Nastran development and enjoy seamless interoperability with a wide variety of add-on products."
NX Nastran is known for its enterprise simulation capabilities with extremely high performance numerical capabilities. NX Nastran Enterprise and NX Nastran SDK are being deployed across major industries including aerospace, automotive, electronics, heavy equipment and medical to digitally analyze, validate and optimize the functional performance of new products. In addition, as an integrated component with pre/post processors offered by UGS, NX Nastran Desktop is a key element of the NX portfolio, providing comprehensive product performance simulation and complementing other advanced digital simulation and prototyping solutions in the NX suite of computer- aided-engineering (CAE) products.
Since its introduction in September 2003, NX Nastran has been adopted for enterprise use by several manufacturers including ATK Thiokol, DaimlerChrysler, EADS, Honeywell Aerospace, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Liebherr, Lockheed Martin Missiles & Electronic Systems, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Nissan Technical Center North America, Northrop Grumman Corporation Space Electronics Division, Orbital Sciences Corporation, Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, Tata Steel Textron/Cessna Aircraft and US Air Force Research Labs (Wright Patterson AFB).
