Bentley Acquires Symmetry Systems
Bentley Systems, Incorporated announced that it has acquired Symmetry Systems Inc., a Bentley systems integrator and reseller since 1998.
Symmetry has been a leading provider of Bentley software, particularly Bentley's civil solutions. As a Bentley Integrator-the highest level of Bentley's channel partners-Symmetry also provided service, support, and training to Bentley users in New York state and New England. Former Symmetry staff will remain as Bentley colleagues at the company's office in Clifton Park, N.Y.
In particular, Symmetry gained wide experience helping transportation agencies standardize with Bentley ProjectWise, the company's flagship collaboration server. Symmetry played key roles in ProjectWise implementations by the New York State Thruway Authority, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), and the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).
Symmetry also helped NYSDOT develop customized training for ProjectWise users. NYSDOT's statewide ProjectWise implementation earned a 2004 BE Award of Excellence, one of 21 honoring the extraordinary work of Bentley users around the world.
Additionally, Symmetry specialized in helping agencies such as VTrans and the Maine Department of Transportation transfer legacy drawings to digital archives, within Bentley's plot management server for network plotting, digital sharing, and digital archiving of AEC plot sets.
