Licom Selects Component Software From UGS' D-Cubed Subsidiary to Enhance Productivity for Users of Licom's AlphaCAM V5 Application
UGS and Licom Systems announced the inclusion of 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager (2D DCM) component software from UGS' D-Cubed subsidiary in AlphaCAM V5, the latest release of the powerful PC-based computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software from Licom Systems.
D-Cubed's 2D DCM solution provides dimension-driven, constraint-based design functionality to CAD/CAM and computer-aided engineering analysis (CAE) and PLM applications worldwide, enabling end users to produce and modify their designs more efficiently. AlphaCAM V5 utilizes 2D DCM to enable a parametric module that streamlines the specification and manufacture of families of products. As a result, new numerically controlled (NC) machining programs can be automatically created from existing designs by simply modifying product variables.

The 2D DCM-based solution is one of several productivity tools added to AlphaCAM V5 to help extend the power, simplicity and reliability of previous releases of Licom's manufacturing software. AlphaCAM V5 is available worldwide in all major languages and is backed by local customer helpdesks, advanced on-site or remote system support, comprehensive product training programs and Licom's networking, installation and IT consultancy services.
