Taiyo Yuden Using Ingenuus Smart Expediter in Production

Ingenuus Software Inc., provider of Smart Expediter, the world's first affordable, enterprise class Business Process Fusion solution announced that Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.) Inc. of San Clemente, California went into production using the Smart Expediter Professional 5.0. Taiyo Yuden was able to go from installation to production in just 60 days.

"Before using the Ingenuus product our engineering change order backlog was 200 to 300 ECOs at any given time" says Tom Brooks, Managing Director at Taiyo Yuden USA. "Now, our backlog is 10-15, and we have recovered 20 to 30 percent of lost time." Taiyo Yuden expects to expand the productivity gains and cost savings they are experiencing by automating their new product documentation. They expect to reduce processing time by 20%.

"The basic upgrade from the previous engineering change management process took two weeks, including the ERP interface, and they could have gone live in that time," explains Vivek Prasad, vice president of development at Ingenuus. "Instead, working without our help, Taiyo Yuden developed another complex document management process to support ISO compliance, tested and deployed it in only forty-five days. They went live on both processes at the same time."

Taiyo Yuden has manufacturing facilities in Mexico, and they are using the Smart Expediter over the web and loving it, according to Brooks. Taiyo Yuden plans to continue automating processes including the document change process, ISO, human resources procedures and policies and several administration processes.

"We are very pleased with the results Taiyo Yuden is experiencing using our Smart Expediter, and how quickly they were able to develop a new task flow" says Christopher Williams, Ingenuus CEO. "Taiyo Yuden joins our other customers telling us that they are experiencing dramatic reduction in processing time, and better collaboration using the Smart Expediter."

Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.), Inc. is the North American subsidiary of Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd., a multinational manufacturer of passive electronic components (capacitors, inductors and ferrite beads); PC-board mounted DC/DC converters; DC/AC drivers for flat panel display backlighting and optical recording media (recordable CD and professional-grade recordable DVD). Founded 50 years ago, Taiyo Yuden operates factories in the United States, Japan, Singapore, Korea, China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia and Mexico. Worldwide, Taiyo Yuden employs over ten thousand people and reports annual sales of more than $1 billion.
