ENGINEERING PLM Solutions Brings Rule-based Product Configuration Capabilities to SolidEdge v.16 Software

ENGINEERING PLM Solutions announced that its entire EDM product suite supports SolidEdge ® v.16 3D mechanical design software. Engineers and designers use EDM RuleDesigner and SolidEdge to capture their knowledge on the processes they use to define, design, build and sell their products, into rules. Upon Customer inputs through a web-portal, EDM RuleDesigner can drive SolidEdge ® v.16 in the automatic creation of all kinds of deliverables, such as 3D viewable files, or 2D drawings, or DXF ® profiles for cutting sheet-metal components, or many others, as well as complete BOMs information to be send to the corporate ERP system or to be included in any MS-Office proposal document or to be displayed through the web.

With its tight integration with SolidEdge ® v.16, EDM RuleDesigner expands on the software by also providing users with tools and new productivity features that will speed the adoption of 3D design around the world.
