Industry Leaders Join Xpedion Design Systems
Xpedion Design Systems, the RFIC simulation company, announced that James Hogan, general partner of Telos Venture Partners has joined the board of directors as part of a recently completed strategic investment round. Also investing were John Barr of Buckingham Capital and Atiq Raza. These investors join Xpedion's primary investors Menlo Ventures and Telesoft Partners.
"Traditional design automation solutions are finding it difficult in meeting the increasing complexity of the wireless consumer applications in RF semiconductor design," said Jim Hogan. "Xpedion is successfully addressing these challenges at RFIC companies by enabling them to reduce design time and minimize design iterations through extensive RF design exploration. At Telos we invest in technology companies that solve emerging customer technology challenges, like RFIC design. We also try to find companies that have forged a world-class team to realize the vision. We found both in Xpedion."
"Being an analyst focusing on the EDA industry for the past 10 years, I have been introduced to the problems in semiconductor design and the solutions provided by the EDA vendors," said John Barr. "Xpedion has developed a very innovative simulation technology designed specifically to handle the critical analyses necessary to confidently design today's RFICs. They also have a team with the experience to create value from that technology."
Xpedion delivers an advanced RFIC simulation technology. This enables RFIC designers to analyze their designs at the transistor level faster and more accurately. The benefits are measured in shorter design cycles, reduced silicon spins and more optimized products. Xpedion is a member of the Cadence Connections Program, the Mathworks Partners Program, the Platform Partners Program, and is a Sun Microsystems development partner. Xpedion's products are also available on the Red Hat Linux operating system. Xpedion Design Systems, Inc. is located at 1900 McCarthy, Suite 210, Milpitas, California, USA, 95035.
