Delcam Appoints Business Development Manager for PowerINSPECT
CADCAM developer Delcam announced the appointment of Brian Griffiths as Business Development Manager for the company's PowerINSPECT inspection software in North America. This latest addition to the PowerINSPECT team follows a more than 70% increase in sales during 2003. It will both increase the support available to existing customers and help to continue this impressive growth rate.
PowerINSPECT is Delcam's software for the inspection of prototypes, tooling and production samples against CAD data. It works with a wide range of inspection devices, including static coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), portable inspection arms, and optical and laser-based systems. A new version of the software has just been released for On-Machine Verification. In all cases, inspection reports, including pictorial, graphical and tabulated data, can be produced from PowerINSPECT either to recognized international standards or in a customer-specified format. By giving real time results in an easy to understand format, problems can be identified earlier and corrected at lower cost.
Among the leading companies using the software are Ford, General Motors, Caterpillar and GKN-Westland Helicopters. The software is also used by both the FIA, the body governing Formula One racing, and the NASCAR R & D facility in North Carolina to ensure that competitors adhere to their regulations.
Although born and educated in the UK, Brian has spent his entire twenty-year career in metrology working in North America. His first position was selling metrology, tooling and workholding equipment with Alexander Tools in Ontario. Brian then spent two years as a Standards/Metrology Inspector with de Havilland Aircraft, before returning to a sales position with laser measurement systems manufacturer LaserMike in Dayton, Ohio.
For the past ten years, Brian has worked for Canadian Measurement-Metrology Inc., where he rose to the position of Sales Manager. The company is an importer and distributor for a wide range of inspection equipment, including CMMs from Brown & Sharpe, DEA and Leitz, OGP Vision Systems, Renishaw probes, Romer portable measuring arms, and Perceptron and Metris laser scanning probes.
