Interwoven WorkSite MP 4 is the Collaborative Document Management Platform of Choice for Software Vendors Building Business Solutions

Interwoven, Inc., provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, announced rapid growth of its OEM and VAR partner program. As the convergence of both structured and unstructured content continues to gain momentum, independent software vendors (ISVs) are finding that they must manage the unstructured content lifecycle around documents, correspondence, and ad-hoc communications. The current regulatory environment has further intensified the need for a "system of record" geared towards auditing the interaction between people, processes, and content in virtually every vertical industry segment.

Extending the industry's only next-generation, integrated document management and collaboration platform, Interwoven recently announced the availability of Interwoven WorkSite MP 4 software, the latest version of its Collaborative Document Management offering. The new version continues to offer ISVs the most compelling platform for building solutions through an expanded set of Application Programming Interfaces, enhanced configuration and data modeling tools, and new compliance and records management features.

Solutions that benefit the most from the improved WorkSite MP 4 platform typically involve people, process, and content. eLearning, Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management, New Product Development, Project Management, and Asset Management, to name a few, are all examples of solutions which stand to benefit from WorkSite MP 4's enhanced set of collaborative document management capabilities.

WorkSite MP contains many of the core Collaborative Document Management capabilities such as rule and role-based rooted security model, delegated user management and administration, document management (check-in/out, version control, audit history, retention), records management, workflow, and collaboration features. Extended capabilities include Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and CAD product integrations, which give users the ability to control and access the integrated capabilities through the desktop applications they are already using today. The modular and flexible architecture of WorkSite MP 4 permits these capabilities to be integrated in part or in whole, depending on a partner's needs, and may be amended based on the licensing partner's future product roadmap requirements.

An example of an ISV building on the WorkSite MP platform is MWH TAG The | Asset | Group. The firm was looking for a collaborative document management platform to collect, store and maintain important asset-related documents in a scalable, secure repository that provides efficient content access to both users of the system and easy integration to other enterprise applications. They also required the ability to associate content - including record drawings, photographs, equipment manuals, standard procedures, processes, project emails, closed-circuit video, etc.-with the assets and systems of assets critical to a utility's asset management program in order to meet regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.

"For us to build such robust functionality ourselves would have been time-consuming, risky and prohibitively expensive," says Rich Migacz, Director of Sales/Strategic Alliances at MWH TAG The | Asset | Group. "WorkSite MP provides us with a best-of-breed solution that enables us to meet the needs of our global utility customers."

Many software vendors and service organizations, like MWH TAG The | Asset | Group, are recognizing that there are new business and sales opportunities that leverage the core capabilities of WorkSite MP. These OEMs and VARs include Primavera and Xchanging. The solutions that will capitalize on these areas of opportunity require an in-depth, industry-specific knowledge in addition to robust technology platform upon which to build the customized offering.

Leveraging the Interwoven WorkSite MP platform, ISV's have an option to pursue one of two integration tracks: a traditional OEM, developer-oriented track at the WorkSite Object Model (WOM) level, through exposure to a rich and comprehensive set of Java, .NET, Web Services, or COM APIs; or a Value-Added Reseller track at the application layer through a customizable web-based interface which can be templatized to meet a partner's particular branding requirements.

The Interwoven OEM/VAR program is designed to increase revenues for organizations by leveraging complementary strengths. For more information on Interwoven OEM/VAR solutions: oem-partner@interwoven.com , (866) 341-3786, http://www.interwoven.com/partners/oem/index.html
