Cimatron to Exhibit New Tooling Software at IMTS 2004
Cimatron Ltd . announced the upcoming release of Cimatron E 6.0, the company's flagship product. The new release will be unveiled at IMTS 2004 (International Manufacturing Technology Show), the largest U.S. industrial exhibition, September 8-15, 2004 at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.
An integrated design and manufacturing system for the tooling industry, Cimatron E covers the entire toolmaking process, from quotation to delivery. Release 6.0 further automates and streamlines processes and tasks, enabling toolmakers to achieve the shortest delivery times, while still allowing each tool shop to employ its own unique methods and practices. For example, with Cimatron E 6.0, mold makers can now design the mold base and generate a rough Bill-of-Material before they start the core/cavity parting. The powerful MoldDesign application is further enhanced in Cimatron E 6.0 to support all types of injection mold layouts, such as multi cavity of family molds, along with concurrent engineering and an improved decision support system. A new automated change management function helps toolmakers gain better visibility and control throughout the entire process.
The Cimatron E product suite features an advanced tool design application, supporting hybrid modeling for solid, surfacing, and wireframe design. In addition, it features a complete set of machining capabilities, from electrodes and wire EDM to 2.5-5X milling. Using this comprehensive functionality, toolmakers can execute any job, from part preparation and tool design through tool manufacturing and subsequent engineering changes.
The unified solid-surface-wireframe modeling environment allows the tool designer to manipulate imported data and create conceptual part designs. Also included in Version 6.0 are further enhancements to Cimatron's leading electrode solution, enabling toolmakers to complete the entire electrode process, from design through manufacturing and on to burning.
"We are committed to continue our focus on the needs of the tooling industry. Release 6.0 is a result of collaboration between Cimatron and the broad base of top quality tool shops that use earlier versions of the product," said Zvika Naggan, Cimatron's President and CEO. "It is a new milestone in the long tradition of a company that delivers not only the latest technology, but also the knowledge and support to help toolmakers advance and stay ahead of the competition."
