Surfware to Demonstrate Step Reduction MillingT (SRM) Technology at IMTS 2004

Surfware, Inc. , developers of SURFCAM CAD/CAM Systems, will demonstrate Step Reduction MillingT (SRM), its patented technology for automating the rough machining process, at IMTS 2004 in booth D-3101. The SRM package, designed for mold machining, is capable of reducing numerical control (NC) programming time by up to 90% and reducing rough machining time by up to 50%.

"SRM will greatly assist manufacturers in removing bulk material, one of the most time consuming aspects of machining," said Glenn Coleman, Vice President of Product Design for Surfware. "By creating one NC program to run multiple tools as a single programming process, SRM is a breakthrough in the rough milling of complex surfaces."

SRM eliminates the need for rest roughing and facilitates automatic corner picking without manually creating boundaries. In addition, SRM optimizes results by automatically synchronizing the depths-of-cut for all tools utilized. This results in uniform step heights, which leaves an even amount of material for the finishing process.

The demonstration can be seen at Surfware's IMTS booth D-3101. The show will run September 8-15, 2004 in Chicago, Illinois at McCormick Place. For more information visit http://www.imts.com/ .
