Hynix Semiconductors Adopts Pulsic's Lyric Shape Based Place & Route Flow

Pulsic Limited, the EDA company that delivers shape-based, IC physical design solutions for analog, mixed-signal and custom digital designs, announced that Hynix Semiconductors has adopted its Shape Based Place & Route flow to reduce the turnaround time for leading edge designs. Under the agreement, Hynix Semiconductors will use Pulsic's Lyric AMS suite for global, automatic and interactive routing, in addition to Pulsic's Spine Router which is specifically designed to address the challenges of memory routing-channel interconnect. Hynix Semiconductors will also use Lyric AMS' floorplanning, autoplacement , and signal integrity capabilities as part of the new flow.

"We have completed a detailed evaluation of Pulsic's groundbreaking shape-based tools over the last few months and concluded that we can improve productivity in several key areas by applying this technology as part of our overall design flow," commented Dr. S.K. Hong, CIO and VP. "We will utilize Pulsic's technology for many of our upcoming leading edge designs and continue to work with the Pulsic team to extend the scope of our relationship."

"We have seen a reduction in design cycle times of between 30% and 50% using Lyric AMS compared to the traditional approach for these types of designs. We are immensely pleased that Hynix Semiconductors has adopted Pulsic for its leading edge designs, and has further endorsed the improvements in productivity and quality of results that Lyric AMS can bring," added Ken Roberts, CEO at Pulsic. "It is particularly rewarding to establish a relationship with one of the leading global semiconductor companies and our relationship with Hynix Semiconductors is indicative of the momentum which we are achieving in key markets around the world."

Pulsic provides advanced physical design solutions for complex analog, custom, digital and mixed-signal IC and system-on-chip (SoC) designs. The company's product suites include automatic and interactive editing, timing closure solutions, topological routing for power/clock and signal integrity.
