Accellera Re-Elects Officers, Announces Plans

Accellera, the electronics industry organization focused on language-based design standards, announced that its Board has re-elected all its officers at a Board meeting earlier this month. In addition, the organization announced plans for the next year.

Dennis Brophy, director of strategic business development, Mentor Graphics, was elected Accellera's chair for a fifth term. Shrenik Mehta, director, Frontend Technologies-ASICs & Processors, Sun Microsystems, was elected vice chair for a 3rd term. Dave Kelf, vice president of marketing, Novas Software, was elected treasurer for a second term. Karen Bartleson, director of interoperability, Synopsys, was elected secretary for a fifth term.

"Accellera works with our members and the electronics industry to create standards that address design complexity and improve the way designers create and verify circuits and systems," said Dennis Brophy, Accellera chairman. "I am pleased to continue as Accellera's chair to support the development and delivery of critical standards that benefit designers throughout the world as we forge stronger ties with well-respected international organizations like the IEEE."

Accellera Corporate member companies include: ARM Ltd., Artisan Components, Cadence Design Systems, Freescale Semiconductor, IBM, Intel Corp., Magma Design Automation, Mentor Graphics, National Semiconductor, NEC, Novas Software, NVIDIA, Real Intent, Sun Microsystems, Synopsys Inc. and Verisity.

Accellera Plans

In the next year, Accellera plans to continue to work with and strengthen its relationship with the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) and focus on standardization activities that include Accellera's Open Kit & Harmonization standards and Accellera's Verilog Analog/Mixed Signal (Verilog-AMS) design language standard.
