Saab Bofors Dynamics Orders Share-A-space From IFS for ERP/PLM and CAD Information Integration
IFS continues to support Saab Bofors Dynamics with state-of-the-art and yet cost effective IT solutions. Share-A-space will enable an efficient integration between the corporate ERP/PLM system from IFS, and the multiple CAD/PDM systems.
IFS and Eurostep , who develops Share-A-space, have agreed to work together to deliver collaboration solutions for the extended enterprise, with a focus on management of product life cycle data. The collaboration builds on IFS' leading position in the ERP/PLM market with IFS Applications and Eurostep's knowledge in product data standards like STEP and PLCS and their software for the engineering supply chain integration, Share-A-space.
Both IFS and Eurostep target advanced industries such as automotive, aerospace and defense, industries with strong demands for well-integrated and cost effective supply chains. The increased focus on sharing of engineering data, linked to the overall integration with ERP and PLM can now be addressed jointly by two of the leading companies in this domain.
We appreciate how both IFS and Eurostep have responded to this opportunity says Ingemar Holmén, CIO Saab Bofors Dynamics. IFS is an important partner for us and this proves their ongoing commitment as a partner. We have been following the development of Share-A-space for potential use in other cases and with this agreement we can go on to exploit other opportunities within areas like product life cycle support (PLCS) and systems engineering, areas very important to our customers. IFS taking on the system integration responsibility and using Share-A-space from Eurostep, is the combination that we wanted to see, ends Ingemar Holmén.
IFS is a global player with a very strong customer base in the industries where we are active as well. We see their strong global presence and growth in business as a proof that they can offer what their highly qualified customers need and we are impressed with what they have achieved. We are excited about that Share-A-space is identified as important complementary software to IFS Applications. Together we have the power of addressing the needs in the extended enterprise when it comes to sharing of product life cycle data and the integration into ERP, says Gordon Ishammar, Director of Sales, Eurostep Commercial Solutions.
Share-A-space achieves a flexible and cost effective integration inside enterprises as well as in the extended enterprise. The need for collaboration is everywhere, inside large enterprises as well as to the external world with partners and customers. With the success we have had with IFS Applications we are asked to take a leading role at our customers, to help them achieve the level of integration needed for their successful business. A collaboration and consolidation hub like Share-A-space is highly needed and we look forward to getting access to both Share-A-space as well as the technical leadership that Eurostep can deliver, says Peter Aronsson, Account Manager Defence, IFS Sverige AB.
Eurostep Group, (www.eurostep.com), delivers software and consulting services for product life-cycle management with a particular focus on the exchange and sharing of data within and between enterprises.
