Agile Enables Companies to Stay Current on Environmental Regulations Through ESHconnect Pact
Agile Software Corporation announced that they have entered an agreement with ESHconnect, a developer of industry-specific risk management knowledge solutions, to leverage ESHconnect's environmental regulation update service across the Agile PLM solution. Under this agreement, Agile will link with ESHconnect's online regulatory update database EIATRACK, which supports the electronics industry. This link will allow Agile customers to stay current on and import environmental regulations. ESHconnect also offers other industry-specific databases that support the semiconductor industry (SEMItrack), and the sporting goods apparel industry (ECOtrack).
Through this agreement, ESHconnect content will be accessible through Agile Product Governance & Compliance. Agile customers will have access to EIATRACK's content, which includes tracking over 2000 laws across 120 jurisdictions; opinion documents from prominent environmental consulting and law firms; regulation alert services; and a comprehensive global restricted substances database. Access to this information allows companies to make better decisions about their products, resulting in reduced risk of non-compliance.

New EU laws, such as electronic product takeback and restrictions on hazardous substances will be going into effect in 2005 and 2006-countries could be turning products away as they arrive if they are not compliant," said Brian Sherin, president ESHconnect. "This agreement with Agile allows users of Agile's solution who face numerous global regulations easy access to the most updated information."
