Autodesk DWF Format Supported by Informative Graphics Brava Product Line

Informative Graphics Corp. (IGC), an Autodesk development partner, announced that it is supporting the Autodesk DWFT (Design Web FormatT) file format in its Brava!® product lines, and that IGC will work with Autodesk to support the new 3D extension to DWF in its MYRIAD® and free ModelPress applications. As an open format, DWF ensures that valuable design information is created, managed and shared more easily across the enterprise.

DWF technology provides a foundation for design collaboration that accelerates communication and helps increase productivity throughout a project lifecycle. A compact format capable of holding large amounts of compressed data, DWF features an open architecture so that it can be published by many different design applications and read by third-party applications as those provided by IGC. DWF also affords control, allowing engineers and designers to specify the design components users may see, and to secure the integrity of original data. DWF reduces the expense of workflow and construction errors due to lengthy review cycles, and, ultimately, helps eliminate costs associated with production and use of paper-based plans. DWF files can be viewed and printed with the free Autodesk® DWFT Viewer, and marked up using the Autodesk® DWFT Composer. More information is available at http://www.autodesk.com/dwf .

Informative Graphics provides view and markup support for a variety of native, standard and published file formats in a common user interface. Users can open and view DWF files in addition to Autodesk DWG, DXF, TIFF, PDF, CGM, MS Office, and many other CAD and non-CAD formats all in the same viewer. Brava is available in a desktop (standalone) and a thin-client/content visualization server version. Brava provides unified visualization through a single integration point to data management systems like Documentum, Open Text, Sharepoint, Hummingbird and ColumbiaSoft. "Our partnership with Informative Graphics is another example of our commitment to making DWF accessible to developers in the CAD community," said Tony Peach, director, DWF Strategy at Autodesk. "By supporting DWF, Informative Graphics increases the value of their products to their customers and extends the value of the DWF platform to the broader CAD community."

"Our partnership demonstrates Autodesk's commitment to supporting the DWF format as an open standard for sharing and collaborating with design data," said Gary Heath, CEO at IGC. "We are excited about the new 3D capabilities of the DWF format and the value that IGC can bring to DWF as an emerging industry standard for the efficient sharing of CAD content," he added.
