Dassault Systèmes and CIMPA Announce CAA V5 Software Partner Agreement
Dassault Systèmes announced that CIMPA, a computer integrated manufacturing specialist for industrial applications, has joined the company's Software Community Program (SCP) as a Component Application Architecture Version 5 (CAA V5) Software Partner.
CIMPA will develop and sell the integrated PANOGEN-CATIA V5 solution for the manufacture of sheet metal and composites parts. The new solution will enhance Dassault Systèmes' PLM functionalities for sheet metal and composite cutting technologies, including milling, laser, water jet, and cutter operations.
PANOGEN provides a comprehensive range of tools, including basic parts programming, automatic part nesting, post-processing, and integration with off-the-shelf ERP applications. Developed initially to meet the needs of aerospace manufacturers, PANOGEN V5 now addresses all industrial applications.
CIMPA will integrate PANOGEN with the CATIA - Aerospace Sheet Metal Design 3 Configuration (SL3) and the CATIA Composite Design 3 (CD3) Configuration solutions. The SL3 solution provides tools to perform advanced and specific 3D design of sheet metal parts used in the aerospace industry, and the CD3 solution provides tools for digital mock-up of the design of composites parts.
The integration of PANOGEN in the CATIA V5 platform for sheet metal manufacturing applications will enable users to operate within the same environment throughout the product lifecycle. This integration will facilitate complete recovery of the manufacturing process if a part needs to be changed. Featuring user-friendly menus, CATIA V5-based PANOGEN will cut programming and product machining times and reduce development costs.
"The combination of AIRBUS CIMPA's domain expertise and the unique competitive edge of the V5 architecture will provide customers with powerful 3D PLM solutions," said Christophe Cochard, chief technology officer, AIRBUS CIMPA. "Industrial companies will realize significant cost savings from the integration of our sheet metal and composite cutting technologies with CATIA V5.".
"This new partnership will bolster the V5 PLM solution for thin parts by providing dedicated V5 PLM integrated manufacturing applications," said Jean-Luc Berry, Manufacturing Solutions research and development Director, Dassault Systèmes. "Our users from the aerospace industry will benefit from the strong expertise CIMPA has developed within the AIRBUS Group over the years and will accelerate V5 PLM standardization in the industry."
The CAA V5 Software Community Program is dedicated to ISV (Independent Software Vendors) willing to develop, sell and support CAA V5-based applications, fully integrated with CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA V5. Information about CAA V5 is available at http://www.caav5.com .
