Engineous to Host Leading Manufacturers at 2004 International User Conference in Atlanta, Georgia; Engineous

Engineous Software announced that on October 27-29 the company would host its 2004 International User Conference at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, GA. The event will be co-sponsored by partners who include IBM, HP, and NEC.

This 2004 event will focus on how companies are overcoming business challenges and gaining competitive position through more effective and efficient product design. Presenters will discuss how they are improving design processes.

This year's agenda features keynote speakers from around the world. Participating from the US -Mary Fortier, Engineering Group Manager, General Motors; from Europe-Pierre-Henri Cros, Director Adjoint, CERFACS; from Asia-Atsushi Matsui, Deputy Chief Engineer, MHI/Nagoya Propulsion and Guidance Systems Works, Japan.

General Sessions will include:

•  Alstom: A vision of globally distributed, state-of-the-art, power plant modeling using FIPER and gPROMS

•  Boeing: iSIGHT Applications at Boeing Integrated Defense System

•  Concepts NREC: Multidisciplinary Optimization of a LH2 Rocket Engine Turbopump Design in an Agile Engineering Environment

•  Dimensional Control Systems: Configuration Seal Joint Variation Analysis

•  GE Energy: iSIGHT Applications Across GE Energy

•  GE Transportation: FIPER at GE Transportation

•  General Motors: Steering Wheel Leads and Pulls Variation, and Multi Objective Optimization for Vehicle NVH Performance

•  Georgia Tech: Sequential Experimental Design and modeling, and FIPER: Federated Intelligent Product EnviRonment and its application for advanced design using the CoVE

•  Lockheed Martin: Aero-Hydrodynamic Shape Optimization

•  NASA: An Ongoing Consultation on Duct Liner Optimization

•  Nutek: Problem Solving Using Designed Experiments Application Strategies

•  ORNL: Optimization of Welding Process for Optimum Performance

•  Rolls Royce: Robust Design in Aero Engine Development

•  Samsung Electronics: Development of a high efficient heat exchanger for air-conditioners using optimization techniques

•  Toyota Motors: Optimization of the gas mixture for CO purification in an automotive fuel cell reformer

Engineous also announced that its annual CAO Frontier Conference, hosted by Engineous Japan Inc., drew its largest audience ever on September 29 in Yokohama, Japan. The event focused on the latest advancements in optimization technology with presentations from industry leaders. Keynote speakers were from Osaka University and MHI Nagoya Propulsion & Guidance Works. MHI presented their design approach for a liquid rocket engine. Guest speaker Professor Kato, from the University of Tokyo, presented the design of outdoor and indoor environments using CFD and optimization techniques. Customer presentations from the following companies were included: Daihatsu Motor, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, and Samsung Electronics. Samsung currently uses iSIGHT as their standard tool for optimization across their enterprise.
