PTC Highlights Success in Small and Medium Businesses with 28% Growth in Fiscal 2004
PTC highlighted its success in the small and medium business (SMB) market in conjunction with its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2004 financial results. In fiscal 2004, which ended September 30, 2004, PTC's reseller channel delivered 28% revenue growth year-over-year. Total channel revenue (license, service and maintenance), net to PTC in fiscal 2004 was $136 million, compared with $106 million in fiscal 2003.
"We have gained significant traction in the SMB market in 2004, outpacing the growth of our closest competitors who serve this space," said C. Richard Harrison, president and chief executive officer of PTC. "PTC is committed to expanding its reach in the SMB market to provide the industry's most powerful 3D CAD software to smaller manufacturing companies at an affordable price and with the ease-of-use they demand. We have positioned ourselves with the right product, the right price point, and the right distribution channel to win in this market."
As part of its reseller channel program, PTC has recognized Tri Cad/Cam Systems as an outstanding contributor to PTC's reseller channel success in fiscal 2004. Tri Cad/Cam Systems, headquartered in Phoenix, specializes in providing total engineering solutions for its customers, including, software, maintenance, consulting, training, hardware, and engineering services. "Tri Cad/Cam Systems is the leading North American VAR for PTC solutions because we know the value they offer our customers can not be matched by the competition," said Pat Maderia, CEO, Tri Cad/Cam Systems. "We sell more PTC solutions than anyone else because that is what our customers need."
Additionally, PTC has recognized 3 HTI for its achievements in expanding PTC's end-user base. One of their key customers is Middle Atlantic Products, Inc., a manufacturer of steel enclosure systems for the commercial audio video, security, broadcast and post production markets. "Working with 3 HTI to buy and install PTC solutions has been easier and less expensive than we could have ever anticipated," said Keith Carney, Director of Engineering, Middle Atlantic Products, Inc. "I would have never thought that my company could afford to have the best 3D design solution on the market, but with PTC and 3 HTI, we do."
During fiscal 2004, PTC added more than 80 resellers to its program. More than 270 resellers with over 1,000 individual representatives and application engineers sell PTC's software to the SMB market. This indirect channel complements PTC's direct sales effort in larger accounts. PTC resellers span the globe, providing PTC products and value-added services to small manufacturing companies in 41 countries.
