AVEVA's Latest Product Release to Set New Standard for 3D Plant Design

AVEVA unveiled a new release of its flagship product:   Plant Design Management System (PDMS). The new release is intended to bring measurable new levels of productivity to the system, which is used on the majority of engineering projects in many process, power, offshore and marine sectors. Version 11.6 will be shipped to customers in December 2004.

As well as many productivity and integration enhancements, the latest release includes features that will increase the speed and accuracy of the 3D plant design and ship outfitting tasks. Using the very latest Microsoft Windows platform, it also offers final construction drawings in AutoCAD that synchronize with changes to the master plant model. This functionality is a result of AVEVA's alliance with Autodesk.

"We've raised the bar again," commented John Sanins, AVEVA's Head of VANTAGE Plant Design. "This is the world's longest running 3D design system and it just keeps getting better. We've made a huge leap forward with 11.6 but maintained total compatibility with previous versions. Most customers will be able to roll it out onto existing projects right away and benefit from its new functionality. That level of security is essential in an industry which continues to see vendors changing direction and expecting their customers to follow."
