SolidVision Releases MathInWorks Calculation Tool for SolidWorks
SolidVision, Inc, announces the release of MathInWorksT, a SolidWorks add-on software that integrates SolidWorks® mechanical computer-aided design (CAD) and Mathcad®, the most widely used engineering calculation software package.
With MathInWorks, users select a Mathcad worksheet from within their SolidWorks part or assembly file, connect Mathcad variables to SolidWorks dimensions for input/output, then run the calculation. Mathcad's "scratchpad" interface records equations the way they are normally recorded in industry texts, allowing for better documentation of intellectual property.
"There's a much better way for engineers to perform mathematical calculations than using cryptic, cell-based spreadsheet programs," says Jeff Millard, president of SolidVision Inc. "By integrating Mathcad and SolidWorks, MathInWorks enables engineers to enter design calculations exactly how they appear in Engineering handbooks and then quickly link those results back to their SolidWorks dimensions."
