Agile Customers Define Benefits of PLM at AGILITY Orlando
Agile Software Corporation announced that its annual PLM conference, held earlier this month in Orlando, Florida, was the most successful to date. This was the result of record-breaking participation by executives from the company's Global 2000 customer-base, who addressed how PLM can help to drive innovation, revenue growth, cost reduction, quality management and compliance.
This year's AGILITY Orlando offered tracks that focused on specific vertical markets. The sessions in these tracks featured executives and luminaries representing the medical device, automotive, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and high-tech electronics industries, who shared best practice strategies that benefit companies focused on managing product profitability within compressed market windows and across highly complex supply chains.
AGILITY Orlando also included a track dedicated to the small and medium enterprise (SME) market. While this market has long been a key area of Agile's customer focus, Agile introduced a dedicated program to deliver ready- to-deploy, cost effective, on demand PLM solutions to meet the specific requirements of SMEs. This dedicated program includes a new product, Agile Advantage 2005; a new delivery vehicle, Agile On DemandT PLM; and a new value-added reseller network.
One of the growing concerns facing the manufacturing industry is the pending European Union (EU) environmental compliance regulation, a heated topic at AGILITY Orlando. In an effort to address these concerns, Agile announced two new relationships at the user conference. The first is with ESHconnect, a developer of industry-specific risk management knowledge solutions. Agile announced it will link ESHconnect's online regulatory update database EIATRACK, which supports the electronics industry, with Agile's regulatory compliance solution, Agile Product Governance and Compliance. This link will allow Agile customers to stay current on and import environmental regulations. The second is with i2 Technologies, Inc. and is intended to provide access to i2's electronic database across the Agile PLM solution. This connectivity to the i2 electronics database is expected to enable companies to locate and analyze electronic components to ensure their compliance with product design goals.
AGILITY Orlando also featured a partner showcase where event sponsors and partner companies demonstrated their complimentary technologies. Event sponsors included Deloitte, Adobe, Datasweep, Domain Systems, Inc., ESHconnect, Oracle, PRTM and Microsoft. Partners included Cimmetry, Embarcadero Technologies, Hitachi Consulting, IBM, PENSA, PortMiner, Satyam, Sierra Atlantic, Spicer Corporation, SolidWorks, US Data Management and Verity. In addition to the industry presentations, political consultants James Carville and Mary Matalin provided the keynote address to a crowd of global 2000 industry leaders and executives about the Presidential election and how companies can best position themselves to meet the inevitable changes ahead.
The next AGILITY will be held October 2005 in Las Vegas. In addition, Agile will be hosting AGILITY Europe in Heidelberg, Germany, March 1-2, 2005.
