Geometric Revenue up 53% year on year, up 10% Quarter on Quarter

Geometric Software Solutions' consolidated total revenue for the quarter ended 30th September 2004 increased by 53% to Rs. 408.43 million as compared to Rs. 267.24 million for the corresponding quarter last year.

Consolidated Operating revenues (Sales) for the quarter ended 30th September 2004 grew by 59%, to Rs. 398.66 million as compared to Rs. 250.79 million for the same quarter last year.

On a sequential quarter on quarter basis, operating revenues (Sales) grew by 14% to Rs. 398.66 million for the current quarter as compared to Rs. 349.28 million for the preceding quarter.

Consolidated PBT for the quarter ended 30th September 2004 increased by 35% to Rs. 90.37 million as compared to Rs. 66.71 million for the corresponding quarter last year.

Consolidated net profit for the quarter ended 30th September 2004 increased by 19% to Rs. 63.25 million as compared to Rs. 53.07 million for the corresponding quarter last year.

Tax Holiday under section 10 A has ceased to exist for some projects in FY05, resulting in increase in tax outgo as compared to FY04.

Highlights for the quarter include:

•  Launch of eDrawings for Unigraphics 17,18 & NX®, CATIA® V5 & Autodesk Inventor series. The successful extension of eDrawings software to all major CAD platforms establishes Geometric as a leader in the 3D collaboration & light-viewing market

•  Awarded second patent for flagship technology, Feature Recognition-'Fillet (Blend) Recognition' algorithms

•  eDrawings for Pro/ENGINEER received with an enthusiastic response by the user community at major international trade shows

•  Participating with a leading OEM in customer audits and formalization of their migration strategy.

•  Initiated the offshore execution of projects for a leading Electronic Equipment manufacturer

•  Entered into partnership with a Premier Electronic Automation company in India & a major Engineering Design firm in Germany

•  Entered into a partnership and initiated product development for 3 OEMs based in the US & Europe.

•  Pilot projects commenced for a Premier Tyre & Rubber company in the US & Europe.

•  Received an order for licensing Geomdiff Library to a US based software OEM to enhance their product functionality.

Highlights of the Results (Consolidated):

1. Comparison with Q2 of FY' 04

•  Operating revenues (Sales) grew by 59%, to Rs. 398.66 million for the current quarter as compared to Rs. 250.79 million for the same quarter last year.

•  Operating profit (PBT but excluding other income) increased by 60%, Rs. 80.60 million for the quarter ended 30th September 2004 as compared to Rs. 50.26 million for the corresponding quarter last year.

2. Sequential comparison with preceding quarter (Q1 of FY' 05)

•  Operating revenues (Sales) grew by 14%, to Rs. 398.66 million for the current quarter as compared to Rs. 349.28 million for the preceding quarter.

•  Operating profit (PBT but excluding other income) increased by 54%, Rs. 80.60 million for the current quarter as compared to Rs. 52.31 for the preceding quarter.

•  Contribution of business partners/ industrial customers to sales continued to be over 30%.
