Autodesk Certifies SofTech's ProductCenter PLM For Autodesk Inventor 9- SofTech Keeps ProductCenter PLM In Step With New Autodesk Releases to Ensure On-going Interoperability
SofTech, Inc. announced that its ProductCenterT PLM (product lifecycle management) solution has been certified by Autodesk for use with Autodesk® Inventor® Release 9. SofTech is a long-standing partner in Autodesk 's Certified Application Program, maintaining certification of ProductCenter with Autodesk Inventor, as well as updated support for Mechanical Desktop® and AutoCAD® design solutions.
"Having dealt with other PLM vendors in the past, SofTech's extensive experience with PLM and its Autodesk Inventor integration capabilities gives us the peace of mind that we can deliver a rock solid CAD/PLM integration that implements readily and meets the unique needs of our Autodesk customer community," states Matt Buttrill, general manager of Lynch Technologies, a Toronto, Ontario-based SofTech reseller partner. "Although offering support for other Autodesk 2D products, SofTech especially shines in its knowledge of the intricacies of the more complex 3D modeling environment. By embedding core CAD definition management and product data and lifecycle process automation directly within Autodesk Inventor, ProductCenter makes it much easier for our customers to transition to 3D and to fully exploit the benefits it can deliver."
What makes ProductCenter different than drawing management utilities is its ability to support a mixed-CAD environment of Autodesk 2D and 3D solutions, as well other CAD applications, office tools, and desktop publishing applications, and literally almost any type of product information. ProductCenter centralizes these resources and automates product lifecycle processes to deliver increased product development efficiency. ProductCenter also extends to offer a comprehensive PLM solution portfolio that enables companies to start small and grow to support the needs of an extended enterprise.
"With ProductCenter all forms of product information -- not just your CAD files -- are centralized, linked, and controlled in truly integrated product development environment that encourages collaboration and cost effective information reuse," states Jay Pappas, ProductCenter product manager. "Companies also gain the added efficiency of automated product lifecycle processes, such as version/release control and ECO/ECN approvals, which in many cases has been shown to reduce product development lifecycles by as much as 60% or more, and deliver many other advanced PLM capabilities not found in simple drawing managers."
