ACS Software Announces the 12th Major Release of the AutoEDMS Document Management & Workflow Solution
ACS Software, Inc. announced the availability of AutoEDMS v6.5 SR2 - the 12th major release of the AutoEDMS Document Management & Workflow Solution. AutoEDMS manages documents and document revision processes in workgroups, across wide-area network systems and the Internet. This new version includes a solution that provides secure, browser-based search/view/print access to the AutoEDMS repository from any standard web browser. "Version 6.5 SR2," explained Todd Hays, President of ACS Software, "is built upon the same solid database, features, functions and customization tools that thousands of AutoEDMS users have relied upon for many years."
Significant enhancements found in AutoEDMS SR2, include:
• Improved Viewing
The new AutoEDMS aVue viewing system - a 100% Java thin-client viewer that replaces the current viewing modules. AutoEDMS aVue viewing technology supports over 400 file types including all the latest file formats, such as AutoCAD 2004/2005 DWG and DWF, Acrobat PDF, and Word/Excel 2003. 3D viewing support for Inventor, Solidworks, Mechanical Desktop, ProE, Catia and others is available as an option.
• Internet Ready
With the optional AutoEDMS Web Publisher (WP), users can query, view, print, and download managed files through standard web browsers. The AutoEDMS WP/aVue system provides streamlined, web-based viewing and printing of hundreds of file formats, without any client-side viewing utilities or plug-ins. Version 6.5 SR2 also includes a new integration interface to the AutoEDMS WP/aVue system. Users can integrate the WP/aVue solution with their existing web site, such as a manufacturing portal or GIS system.
• Automated Document Workflow
AutoEDMS automates document revision and approval processes with the built-in AutoEDMS Workflow Engine. The drag & drop Visual Workflow Designer is used to establish multiple workflow processes. These workflow processes can automatically route documents between people and departments, through a multi-step revision and approval process. SR2 has increased performance in Workflow operation by 100+%.
• Windows Terminal Server & Citrix MetaFrame Support
Version SR2 is now full compatibility with Windows Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame. AutoEDMS can be easily deployed over the Internet to efficiently support remote AutoEDMS users.
