think3 Enhances Vendor Neutral Capability of PDM Tool-thinkteam Seamlessly Integrates with Leading CAD Solutions

think3 announced that it had added functionality to thinkteam, the product data management (PDM) component of its thinkPLM suite.

thinkteam now complements PTC 's Pro/ENGINEER and Autodesk 's AutoCAD to help designers manage 3D-modeled product information and integrate existing functions, without changing operating methods. thinkteam for Pro/ENGINEER and AutoCAD introduces a single access point for all product data, including drawing archives.

Whichever legacy solution a company has deployed, thinkteam can integrate seamlessly to manage all product information in a single environment, which helps customers to improve design automation, reduce time to market, increase efficiency and control and improve quality of design.

"thinkteam is designed to add unique value to a customer's product development processes even if the customer has a legacy design solution in place," said Eugenio Vacca, thinkPLM product marketing manager, think3.   "Customers who have already invested the considerable time and expense necessary to learning Pro/ENGINEER or AutoCAD can continue to leverage that investment while also taking advantage of thinkteam's benefits for seamless integration."

Additional features of thinkteam include powerful, easy-to-use search functions, so information can be found quickly and reliably. Errors caused by using incorrect or outdated information and concurrent modifications to the same drawings by different designers are virtually eliminated.   thinkteam for Pro/ENGINEER and AutoCAD enables designers to assess the impact of modifications by automatically managing links between drawings and the product's bill of materials.

thinkteam also includes new ease-of-use functionality such as adding documents by dragging them from a Windows desktop, automatic creation of links between documents, recursive release of document trees and document markup and redline management to improve collaboration.
