ESI Group to Inaugurate its Software Product Development Center in Bangalore-India

ESI Group announced the inauguration of ESI Software India private limited, a wholly owned subsidiary in Bangalore on December 1st, 2004. The India center will primarily be involved in the development of software products for virtual simulation.

"The official inauguration of ESI Software India is laying solid foundations for the implementation of a realistic and open CAE simulation environment strengthening ESI Group's virtual engineering solutions," says Dr. Alain de Rouvray, Chairman & CEO, ESI Group.

The Indian subsidiary has been created in February 2004, following the acquisition of EASi USA's MCAE* intellectual property rights in September 2003. A suite of simulation environments for crashworthiness, safety, NVH, durability and process analyses has thus been added to ESI Group's MCAE portfolio.

ESI Software India Pvt Ltd will be a software product development company dedicated to market requirements collection, product definition, design, implementation, validation and shipping. The nature of work represents the high end of the value chain encompassing all aspects of the software product development.

Currently, the India center is focusing on the development of the Open VTOS based on EASi-VISTA, an object-oriented development platform for CAD/CAE. This technology has been developed in India during the last 10 years. "Open VTOS technology will significantly reduce the development of environments for computer aided analysis of engineering systems with complex graphical interface," says Nagesh L. Bysani, Managing Director, ESI Software India.

The Indian facility will be located at Banashankari II Stage, South Bangalore.
