Agile PLM Helps AMX Corporation Accelerate Time to Market
Agile Software Corporation announced that long-time Agile customer AMX Corporation of Richardson, TX, has completed an upgrade to Agile 9 to manage its business-critical PLM processes.
"AMX has been an Agile customer for over six years and we rely on Agile PLM to control costs and accelerate our time to market. Our move to Agile 9 has given us access to a broad range of new PLM functionality which ultimately improves our business processes," said Carl Evans, vice president of operations, AMX Corporation. "The upgrade to Agile 9 was seamless. In the short time Agile 9 has been up and running, we are already witnessing process improvements. For example, utilizing .pdx packages for sharing information with our global partners has reduced processing time. We are pleased with the results we've obtained with Agile PLM and look forward to a continued strong partnership."
AMX Corporation is a worldwide leader in advanced control system technology for commercial and residential markets, which works with dealers and distributors to integrate its products with a range of electronic devices. With the completion of the upgrade to Agile 9, AMX and its employees, customers, suppliers and supply chain partners all have improved visibility into the product record. AMX intends to leverage Agile 9's platform to manage its entire product line portfolio. AMX has taken advantage of the improved features of Agile Product Collaboration, which enables each team member in the extended design and supply chain to have secure access to the product record data. AMX team members access this system across multiple functions including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, technical support, marketing, and product services. AMX uses its Agile PLM solution to share product records with its supply chain partners globally-both contract manufacturers and part distributors-each of whom will access the data via a Web-based interface. As a next step, AMX is planning to augment the workflows, leverage new functionality within Agile Product Collaboration, and enhance the integration with its JD Edwards enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
"It is because of customers such as AMX Corporation that we have developed the advanced features and functionality of Agile 9," said Bryan Stolle, Agile CEO. "As the pressure to improve product profitability grows, many companies are seeing an increase in the number of participants across the PLM process. With Agile 9, companies now can enable this larger audience to have direct access and real-time participation in the process. Working with AMX has been an incredible partnership, and we're pleased to see the success they have had with Agile 9."
