gedas Expands Relationship with SAP AG to Deliver mySAP PLM

gedas announced that it has expanded the scope of its relationship with SAP AG to bolster its sales and consulting forces for reselling and successfully deploying mySAPT Product Lifecycle Management (mySAPT PLM) and CAD solution integrations in the United States. gedas provides a single source for process consulting, systems integrations and industry expertise for its manufacturing and automotive clients.

The expanded relationship builds on the success of gedas' strong expertise in delivering mySAP PLM and CAD solutions. Since 2000, the partnership with SAP has shown significant success, producing more than 80 clients worldwide who use gedas CAD integration solutions.

"With this agreement, we will extend the success of the joint PLM business model in the US market," said Martin Biallowons, group executive manager, Product Lifecycle Management Line of Business at gedas. "In the US market, the concepts around mySAP PLM for New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) are the fastest growing business area at gedas," according to Bill Newman, executive director for PLM business unit for gedas' NA operations. We are already the leading PLM services provider in the automotive and discrete manufacturing space, and looking to expand our services partnership with SAP in this area."

More than 20 clients in the US market engage gedas for their product development and engineering solutions, including Johnson Controls, ArvinMeritor, Honeywell Garrett, Philips Advance Transformer and Andrew Corporation.

Under the new framework, gedas will provide focused solutions around the use of engineering authoring packages from SolidWorks, Autodesk, UGS SolidEdge and UGS NX exclusively in the US market. gedas maintains partnerships with SAP® solution integration partners cideon AG and DSC AG for the development of the Autodesk and UGS NX application solutions to SAP. These solutions are key to provide value-added services to integrate and manage bill of materials, report on Reduction of Hazardous Waste (RoHS) requirements and provide sound Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).

A 100-percent subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, gedas has more than 50 locations in 12 countries with headquarters in Berlin, and has successfully provided IT services for the past 20 years. In 2003, the 5000 gedas employees worldwide achieved a turnover of 576 million euros, 80 percent of which was created in the most important automobile production centers in the world.
