Visiprise Announces Adoption of UGS' Open Manufacturing Backbone (OMB) To Deliver Complete Manufacturing Visibility
Visiprise, Inc. announced its formal adoption of Open Manufacturing Backbone (OMB), a globally scalable technology backbone launched by product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services leader UGS. (See "UGS Launches Open Manufacturing Backbone (OMB)" in separate release from UGS.)
Visiprise's flagship solution, Visiprise Manufacturing, is a comprehensive manufacturing operations platform that gives discrete manufacturers control over global manufacturing operations. Built upon a series of flexible components, Visiprise Manufacturing combines the most advanced industry methodologies and the latest in J2EE technology to define, track and report on real-time information from the manufacturing shop floor.
OMB is designed to transform the process of digital manufacturing through an open environment in which third-party software applications can interoperate. The technology foundation for OMB is UGS' Teamcenter® Manufacturing, an enterprise platform to help companies digitize and manage their manufacturing processes so they can get better products into production for less cost.

UGS and Visiprise are currently working together on developing a fully-integrated, global digital manufacturing platform for a major aerospace industry company for manufacturing, assembly and testing of its products.
