ITT Technical Institute Offers AVEVA's Plant Design Management Software Seminar in Addition to Curriculum at South Houston Campus

AVEVA Group plc announced that ITT Technical Institute has licensed its VANTAGE® Plant Design Management System (PDMS) for use as a continuing education seminar for Computer Drafting and Design students at the South Houston campus. ITT Tech plans to offer a challenging seminar in process piping design and drafting to graduates and students.

"Houston is the center of the petrochemical refining industry in the U.S.," commented Robert Jeffords, Director of ITT Tech's South Houston Campus. "On the Gulf coast there are many more job opportunities for designing engineering process plants and offshore rigs than elsewhere in the nation. We are proud to be the first ITT Tech campus to offer a specific continued education seminar in process and piping design that more clearly serves the needs of engineering employers in the area."

"We see the offering of a PDMS training seminar as an excellent way to help prepare our graduates and students for local opportunities," added Chad Muse, Director of Career Services at ITT Tech. "We are offering the seminar because PDMS is so widely used among local industries."

"PDMS is widely adopted among local engineering employers," said Matthew McKinley, Executive Vice-President of AVEVA. "With over twenty years of successful deployment in the field, PDMS has been used to design 80% of all new offshore projects worldwide in the last ten years as well as the majority of all the CAD-designed rigs here in the Gulf. We're very pleased that ITT Tech has chosen PDMS to train the next generation of drafters, as well as provide our customers with a source of highly-qualified designers."

The Houston South ITT Technical Institute is owned and operated by Indianapolis-based ITT Educational Services, Inc., a provider of technology-oriented postsecondary degree programs in the United States, based on enrollments. ESI operates 77 ITT Technical Institutes across the countries, which primarily offer career-focused degree programs of study to approximately 42,000 students.

Established in 1995, the Houston South ITT Technical Institute has a student enrollment of approximately 350 students. In addition to drafting and design, the college also offers programs in electronics and information technology.
