Three PSEG Companies Select Bentley's ProjectWise

Bentley Systems, Incorporated announced that three companies in the Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) have adopted Bentley's ProjectWise products and services to create a managed environment for more than 225,000 documents and landbase records.

Not long after PSEG joined Bentley's Enterprise License Subscription (ELS) program, which gives organizations unlimited access to the company's entire software portfolio for a fixed annual fee, the Fossil subsidiary of PSEG Power selected ProjectWise to create a digital managed environment for its project content. "After evaluating several competitive products, we concluded that ProjectWise is the only product that supports all of our complex requirements for managing drawing files in their native file formats," said Felix Ruiz, CAD system administrator, PSEG Power.

Fossil's previous power drawing management system was an outdated, hard-copy, manual-entry program shared among other groups within the company. It required the creation, manipulation, issuance, and storage of multiple copies of the same document, making its use labor intensive and prone to error. Ruiz added, "Upon deployment of ProjectWise, users will be able to access, check out and check in, and redline all fossil-related documents and drawings via the thick client or the Web."

After an exhaustive search to replace its existing engineering drawing and document management system, the Nuclear subsidiary of PSEG Power also standardized on ProjectWise. This decision was based largely on specific functionality requirements and Nuclear's longstanding relationship with Bentley.

In addition, the Surveys & Mapping group of PSE&G has selected ProjectWise, along with Bentley's Geospatial Management, to organize its engineering documents and maps. Bentley's Geospatial Management extends the ProjectWise environment and gives spatial context to data within a managed environment.

PSEG is a $28 billion energy and energy services company with three major subsidiaries: PSE&G, a regulated electric and gas distribution business, PSEG Power, a U.S. power producer, and PSEG Energy Holdings, the parent of PSEG's other unregulated businesses including PSEG Global, an international operator of power generation and distribution systems, and PSEG Resources, which invests in energy-related financial transactions.
