Omnify Software Adds ReliOn to its PLM Customer Base
Omnify Software announced that ReliOn, Inc. has begun using the Omnify PLM system to cut down the new product development cycle and streamline its processes for materials management across the company. With the addition of ReliOn to the Omnify client roster, the company further expands its west coast presence, and plans to continue to cultivate that market through customer wins and new reseller channel partners.
ReliOn, a provider of high reliability fuel cell solutions for backup power applications, selected Omnify PLM because the company needed a solution that did not require a great deal of customization, but had the capability to manage and speed the entire product development cycle and provide a central location for managing product data. Omnify's flexible, Web-based architecture provided a good solution for their needs.
"Omnify PLM is a great collaboration tool for our communications needs. We are now able to streamline our data management across the entire company, as well as with our outside contract manufacturers," said Brian Sossaman, Manager of Information Technology at ReliOn. "Omnify's open architecture enabled us to seamlessly integrate with our existing systems, while providing a robust out-of-the-box solution that can handle customized reporting, manage all part data, new part requests, and bills of materials."
ReliOn deployed Omnify PLM in a about a week and with the help of Omnify's professional services team, easily integrated the technology into its engineering environments, OrCAD® and Solidworks, and ERP system, Solomon. The new implementation allows ReliOn to eliminate the data entry duplication often associated with managing product development in various spreadsheets and databases and more efficiently manage bill of materials, engineering changes and documentation. ReliOn is now able to enter data into Omnify and immediately share it across all of its systems, significantly reducing the time it takes to complete a product's development.
ReliOn has also benefited from Omnify's real-time communication capabilities by enabling communication and workflow across the company and with their outside contact manufacturers (CMs). Omnify's collaborative Web-based solutions provide real-time information sharing and data cataloging that has enabled greater external collaboration-allowing their CM partners to participate in sourcing and design decisions. These features also help ReliOn to anticipate inventory and materials they need in advance, speeding product development and standardizing part classification.
