ImpactXoft and Lattice3D Establish Business Partnership to Promote 3D Publishing Applications

ImpactXoft and Lattice3D announced a business partnership and the availability of the Lattice3D XVL conversion software to worldwide users of ImpactXoft's IX SPeeD Suite.

Lattice3D XVL converters translate all major CAD and 3D data formats into XVL and typically compress 3D models by more than 98 percent. Lattice3D's XVL converter plug-ins and server software will now integrate into the native desktop of any product in the IX SPeeD Suite and enable users to export XVL files during design sessions. By generating an XVL file, ImpactXoft customers will be able to publish 3D documents into a variety of formats.

The IX SPeeD Suite is a design environment for Simultaneous Product Development® (SPD) that features industry solutions specialized to meet the needs of vertical disciplines that develop products for the Electronics and Electrical (E&E) and consumer goods markets. All products in the suite feature Functional Modeling and collaborative design capabilities that help drive a more flexible, productive, and innovative product development process. The product suite ensures that co-located as well as globally dispersed teams of professionals - spanning critical roles such as industrial design, product engineering, mold and tooling design, and NC manufacturing - can take advantage of highly specialized toolsets while working in parallel to develop market-competitive products.

Lattice3D provides broad solutions for leveraging 3D models beyond engineering - throughout the extended enterprise. The benefits of its 3D software extend across a large variety of industries including automotive, manufacturing, architecture, aerospace, high-tech and consumer electronics. Lattice3D's converters are fast and efficient and typically reduce the file size by 50-200 times (typically ~98%) with no loss in accuracy or graphical fidelity. By accessing the Lattice3D converter plug-ins, ImpactXoft customers can translate files manually, or configure them to run automatically in response to file changes or according to a fixed schedule and publish them in a variety of formats including Microsoft® Word, Microsoft® Power Point, and interactive html web pages.

"Lattice3D is excited about its strategic partnership with ImpactXoft," said Jeff Drust, vice president of business development and marketing at Lattice3D. "We look forward to providing 3D publishing capabilities that extend the reach of ImpactXoft 3D CAD design data within the organization without requiring users to have CAD expertise. For example manufacturing, procurement, technical illustration, sales, marketing and customer support can each re-use existing 3D data assets for part catalogue systems, 3D training animations, 3D QA applications, 3D technical manuals and even 3D web sites."

"We believe that published 3D data must retain accurate geometric dimensions and metadata to be efficiently used downstream in the consumer goods design process," said Andrea Nassisi, director of product management at ImpactXoft. "We are very enthusiastic about this partnership because Lattice3D converters will help our IX SPeeD Suite users effortlessly publish rich 3D engineering data for a broad range of uses in the extended enterprise, including marketing presentations, end user assembly instructions and manufacturing quality assurance."

ImpactXoft is a private, venture-funded software company providing a suite of products for Simultaneous Product Development. More information is available at http://www.imapctxoft.com .

With over 250,000 users at over 2,000 companies, Lattice3D's applications enable their customers to use existing 2D & 3D data beyond engineering-throughout the extended enterprise. The company's 3D software creates interactive 3D documents directly from CAD drawings, while its compression enables uses ranging from technical illustrations and electronic training manuals (IETM) to 3D sales presentations and assembly instructions.
