Hydro Aluminum S.A. Selects Agile PLM as Global Product Development Platform

Agile Software Corporation announced that Hydro Aluminum S.A., a company of the Fortune 500 oil, energy and aluminum supplier Norsk Hydro ASA, has selected Agile PLM as its global product development platform. Agile was chosen for its PLM functionalities, including product portfolio management, and its integration to authoring systems. Hydro is a Fortune 500 energy and aluminum supplier operating in more than 40 countries. Hydro is a leading offshore producer of oil and gas, the world's third-largest aluminum supplier and a leader in the development of renewable energy sources.

"The decision to implement product lifecycle management was driven by Hydro Aluminum's goal to exploit synergies across its aluminum building profile systems portfolio," said Dr. Jurgen Selig, CIO, Hydro Aluminum. "Hydro Aluminum is the world's third largest aluminum supplier. By selecting Agile e5.1 and Agile Product Portfolio Management, the company can leverage a central, enterprise product record that provides visibility into our product portfolio, back-end operations and supply chain, while streamlining business processes that impact product development."

"We are pleased that Hydro Aluminum selected Agile over a long list of competitors to become the foundation of its PLM initiative," said Jay Fulcher, COO, Agile Software. "As Hydro Aluminum expands their implementation globally, PLM will help it extend best practices and insights from more than a century in business into exciting new markets."
