ARCHIBUS, Inc. Announces Support for AutoCAD 2006

ARCHIBUS, Inc. announced support for AutoCAD® 2006 next generation design software from Autodesk, Inc.

A long-time member of the Autodesk Developer Network, ARCHIBUS, Inc. is focused on helping its customers realize true efficiency gains in enterprise space and asset management. The new features in AutoCAD 2006 make it much easier for ARCHIBUS customers to extract lifecycle information from their existing architectural designs and use this data for strategic planning, lease management, asset disposition, emergency preparedness, and other mission-critical facilities/infrastructure functions.

AutoCAD's new annotation tools and Heads-Up Design features make it faster and easier than ever to overlay ongoing management information and thematic analyses over the underlying architectural content-and to keep the two kinds of digital data synchronized through moves, capital projects, and renovations.

"Taking advantage of the latest features in AutoCAD 2006 will provide ARCHIBUS customers increased productivity enabling them to respond faster to changes in their organizations," said John Sanders, vice president of Autodesk's Platform Technology Division. "We think facility managers will be pleased with the results."

"ARCHIBUS, Inc. values its twenty-year-long relationship with Autodesk, and over that time customers have come to depend on this team to deliver enterprise-scale results," says Steve Segarra, CTO for ARCHIBUS, Inc. "For example, the largest global energy company has made ARCHIBUS/FM one of the few business information applications they standardize on worldwide. Telefonica, a global telecommunications firm, reports a savings of over 930 million Euros from implementing ARCHIBUS/FM. In these deployments, we rely on Autodesk software to mine real estate and building graphics and to visualize strategic choices."
