IME UK Ltd Announces Support for Autodesk Map 3D 2006

IME UK Ltd announced support for Autodesk Map® 3D 2006 next generation design and mapping software from Autodesk, Inc. Autodesk Map 3D 2006 is a new way for users to create, manage and share design data and geospatial information with power and precision, ultimately resulting in more informed decisions and increased efficiency.

The IME OpenGIS WMS client for Autodesk Map 3D 2006 supports an integrated extension to query, deliver and display faster entities with appropriate resolution and georeferencing. With Autodesk Map 3D 2006, customers can create, maintain and edit data, no matter what format, in a true precision CAD environment with fewer inaccuracies and preserved data integrity-integrating server-side data through both vector storage in Oracle and now optimized for faster delivery as an OpenGIS WMS client.

Autodesk Map 3D provides a faster and more efficient way to create and manage map books than was possible before. Because map books can now be published in DWFT file format, anyone in the organization can view electronic maps without costly software, which helps ensure that all are working with the latest information. The OpenGIS WMS client reads data direct from WMS servers including Autodesk MapGuide LiteView.

"By integrating with the latest features in Autodesk Map 3D 2006, IME UK Ltd enables our joint customers to make better decisions," said Chris Bradshaw, vice president of Autodesk's Infrastructure Solutions Division. "We are pleased to have their immediate support of IME for Autodesk Map 3D 2006."

Crispin Hoult, technical director of IME UK Ltd notes, "IME UK Ltd values its long-term relationship with Autodesk and the customers we share across the world that are using international standards for GIS data provision."
