InterSpec Announces Support for Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006
InterSpec announced support for Autodesk® Architectural Desktop 2006, next generation AutoCAD®-based building design and documentation software from Autodesk, Inc. Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 helps architects realize their ideas by delivering flexibility in both implementation and use, the efficiency of real-world building objects, and the very best AutoCAD-based design and documentation productivity.
With Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 architects can start working immediately with minimal training, and implement Autodesk Architectural Desktop at their own pace with the familiar working methods and user interface. Combining e-SPECS and Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, customers can realize time and cost savings by automating the preparation of their construction specifications. As the designer enters drawing objects, text, keynotes, blocks, hatches, and any other drawing elements, InterSpec's e-SPECS interprets these elements to automatically create the specification and keep the drawing and specs in sync.
The new features in Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, including more standard detail content 2006, make it easier than ever to create and manage specification documents with e-SPECS.
"By integrating with the latest features in Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, InterSpec enables our joint customers to save time and reduce mistakes developing their construction specifications," said Phil Bernstein, vice president of Autodesk's Building Solutions Division. "We are excited to have the strong and rapid support of InterSpec and the e-SPECS family of products from InterSpec for Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006."
"Our partnership with Autodesk and our tight integration to Autodesk's industry leading building design solutions enables InterSpec customers to create more robust and automated specification solutions resulting in time and cost reductions with improved project quality," says Seamus McGrady, vp of sales & marketing at InterSpec.
InterSpec provides construction document management solutions and services built on its e-SPECS specification management technology. Its e-SPECS software automates the specification process by extracting the product and material requirements directly from the project drawings, eliminating many hours of tedious preparation time and ensuring that the drawings and specifications always agree. e-SPECS integrates the entire project team into the specification development process streamlining the document management process and reducing reliance on inefficient word processing systems.
